Christmas at my house for the last several years has included Jay. Even this last year when he felt so horrid, he joined us for Xmas Eve and Day. It was a tradition that Jay always brought the makings for breakfast after stockings, which Matthew, Jeffery, and Kyria often prepared.
We counted on getting the current years' Farmers Alamanac from him. He and Kyria always got the couches to sleep on, except this year when vociferous and aggressive Wii play took over the living room. One year, he wore a battery-operated elves cap that played "Have a Holly Jolly Xmas" and jingled it's bell vigorously. He gave me Ron's old stocking to hang with the rest of the family's. I will of course continue to hang it. Here are a few of the photos from over the years that Jay has spent with us.

ReplyDeleteJay and I always shared a tree in the Tobin Lodge. All of both of our ornaments would go on. I recall the glass goose Jay said was a family heirloom, and the barbeque ornament, and the champagne bottle, and many more. He also always put up his 3ft tall plastic light-up Frosty in the front window to wave at the passers-by. He had that Appalachian Christmas Music tape with "Chistmas Times A'Comin'" and the Louie Armstrong Christmas album.
